Sweat Reduction

Sweat Reduction Treatment Twickenham

At Thames Skin Clinic, we offer effective sweat reduction treatments to help manage excessive sweating and restore your confidence. We commonly treat underarm sweating, palms sweating, hand sweating and feet sweating.

These conditions carry the medical diagnosis of hyperhidrosis. They lead to unpleasant odour from the bacterial growth within the sweat produced, which can be mistaken as poor hygiene. Excess sweating can affect your work, social life and day-to-day activities

At Thames Skin Clinic, we’re here to help you feel comfortable in your skin. today to safely and effectively reduce unwanted sweat.

At Thames Skin Clinic Dr Hemming consults with all patients for sweat reduction.

Hyperhidrosis Treatments Twickenham

Excess sweating, known as hyperhidrosis, is caused by the overactivity of sweat glands trying to control body temperature. At Thames Clinic, successfully treats patients who suffer from excess sweating through treatments. She has over 15 years of experience in medical aesthetics and is a fully qualified medical doctor.

We’ve helped patients who work in a variety of occupations, including nurses, chefs, CEOs and management roles. Our hyperhidrosis treatments are performed in our -registered clinic in Twickenham, which is easily accessible for patients from across London too.

This treatment is also used to treat other medical conditions such as , facial symmetry, smoothing wrinkles and releasing spasticity in medical conditions like cerebral palsy and many surgical procedures.

One of the easiest ways to stop underarm sweating is by using an antiperspirant. However, this doesn’t work for everyone, which is why hyperhidrosis treatments can help.

Hyperhidrosis treatment involves fine botulinum toxin injections placed gently and under the skin. This blocks the nerve supply to the sweat gland, stopping sweat production. From this treatment, sweating is reduced by an average of 85% and at least half in 95% treated.

How do you stop sweaty hands?

treatment can also be used to stop sweaty hands. By blocking the sweat glands and stopping sweat production the hands and feet can be treated. Sweaty palm treatment is safe and helps improve hand function.

There are several different brands of sweat reduction treatment available. At Thames Skin Clinic, we only use premium, pharmaceutical-approved injectable products with extensive clinical research and proven safety . We do not use cheap, unlicensed or unregulated products.

Our treatments are supplied by leading pharmaceutical manufacturers and have been extensively tested for both safety and effectiveness, helping to reduce excessive sweating and improve confidence in everyday situations.

Dr Hemming has written a number of articles covering sweat reduction treatments, how they work and the differences between the premium brands available.

to learn more about sweat reduction consultations and treatment options.

Sweat reduction or hyperhidrosis treatment is suitable for anyone wishing to decrease excessive sweating. Treatment is not suitable if you are or breastfeeding or if you are undergoing IVF treatment. We always discuss your medical history during your consultation.

Sweat reduction treatments are safe and performed by Dr Hemming, who is extremely experienced in aesthetic techniques. She is both medically qualified and has a very experienced eye for natural treatment.

Hyperhidrosis treatment at Thames Skin Clinic is not a painful treatment. Local anaesthetic is applied before and a cold compress may be used. You may notice some very mild discomfort when treatment is placed. This is short-lived and does not linger after treatment.

The side effects from hyperhidrosis treatments are minimal, if any. Botox is injected through a very small needle; nevertheless the injection site may be tender and mild bruising may occur. Ptosis, or drooping of the eyelid, is very rare, much less so with the experienced injector physician.

It should not be used if pregnant or breastfeeding as we have no research to prove it is safe for your foetus or child.

Care must be taken if you’ve been diagnosed with neurological or bleeding disorders. Additionally, if you’re currently suffering from a skin or allergy or taking particular medication, you should let your practitioner know. Your specialist will be able to advise you further.

Please discuss any current medication with the doctor, especially if you are taking aspirin or Ibuprofen. Medication may need to be stopped before treatment.

After a sweat reduction treatment, there may be a small bump on the skin which settles in 5-10 minutes. Occasionally a small pinprick bruise may occur. There is no significant and full aftercare advice will be given at your appointment.

Sweat reduction treatment works by using small amounts of botulinum toxin injected just into the skin where the sweat glands sit. These glands aren’t deep; they’re within the skin itself therefore the action is on the skin itself and not the underlying tissues..

The injections block the nerve signals that tell the sweat glands to sweat. Once those signals are blocked, the glands in that area simply stop overproducing. It’s a very targeted approach, which is why it’s especially effective for areas like the underarms, hands or feet. It only affects the treated area, so the rest of your body continues to regulate temperature as normal.

The sweat reduction treatment using anti-wrinkle is quick and straightforward. First, the skin is cooled (often with a cold compress) to make the area more comfortable. Then a series of very small injections is placed just under the skin using a fine needle. You may notice tiny raised bumps at each injection point. This is completely normal and shows the product has been delivered into the skin where the sweat glands are.

Most take around 20 to 30 minutes, and discomfort is usually minimal and is often described as a small pinprick sensation. Afterwards, there’s little to no downtime. You can return to normal daily activities, with just a few short-term aftercare precautions.

In most cases, only one session is needed to see a significant reduction in sweating.

You’ll usually start to notice results within a few days, with full effects developing over 1 to 2 weeks. The results aren’t permanent, but they are long-lasting, typically around 4 to 7 months. To maintain the results, most people choose to repeat the treatment once or twice a year, depending on how their body responds.

The sweat reduction product is injected placed through a fine sterile needle into the area of sweat production.

Treatment can cause mild discomfort over a few seconds.

can start within a few days and the complete effect in 2 weeks.

Treatment lasts for 4-7 months.

Your comfort levels and expectations are important factors which are considered in your consultation.

Ptosis or drooping of the eye lid is very rare with forehead treatment, much less so with the experienced injector.

Treatment for excessive sweating vary by the area of treatment (forehead, underarm, palms, feet). We often get asked about the cost of treatment. At Thames Skin Clinic we pride ourselves on results rather than focus on the price of a treatment, it is more important that we get the correct quality of product rather than offer cut price treatments, products and services ( when it comes to medical treatments). You will never see Thames Skin Clinic advertising services on social coupon sites such as Groupon as we believe they have a negative impact on our customer safety, results and satisfaction. We also wish to abide by the advertising regulator and work in a safe ethical manor.

Our prices reflect the skill, training and product choices we have made as well as the true reflection of the beautiful clinic surroundings.
